Jamila’s story
At just 7 years old, Jamila’s life has been a battle against extraordinary medical challenges. Born with severe microcephaly, global developmental delay, and both hearing and visual impairments, her journey has been one of resilience and unwavering courage.
In June 2022, Jamila contracted COVID-19, and suffered two cardiac arrests, within the span of 37 minutes, resulting in hypoxia and severe brain damage. Jamila requires urgent surgery for diaphragmatic eventration.
With her father as the sole provider and her mother giving up her career to care for Jamila, they struggle to afford her long-term medical needs. Despite exhausting their medical insurance and financial resources, Jamila's parents remain resolute in their determination to help their precious daughter.
Despite the odds, Jamila’s strength shines through. "Jamila is our miracle child, and we will move mountains to ensure her comfort and well-being. We refuse to lose hope. But we cannot do it alone."
