Mohammed’s story
19-year-old Egyptian national Mohammed was recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) and needs urgent medication to delay the onset of permanent neurodegeneration and life-threatening symptoms.
Since his diagnosis Mohammed has suffered permanent and continuous numbness in his hand, leg and the entire right side of his body. The condition will deteriorate if medication is not taken. Unfortunately, Mohammed has not been able to start MS treatment as the family were already overwhelmed with medical bills for his mother who is undergoing cancer treatment. They have exhausted their personal funds; they were forced to get a bank loan and as the bills mount they desperately need humanitarian aid to get their lives back on track.
Although there is no cure for MS, advancements in medicine help make living with MS easier and medication can help reduce the frequency and seriousness of symptoms and also decrease the number of relapses.
Mohammed’s parents are desperate to help him face the burden “thank you for your interest, communication, and support, which will positively affect Mohammed’s life, a young man at the beginning of his life.”
