Amro’s story
8-year-old Amro suffers from Uveitis, a rare condition in which all or part of the uvea (middle layer of the eye) becomes inflamed. If left untreated, it can lead to blindness.
Amro's family are from Egypt, and he is one of three siblings. His father works in administration, while his mother cares for their young family. The parents are struggling to provide the necessary medical care for their son, and with the disease affecting his vision, they are very worried about Amro's future.
"Amro's condition is truly debilitating, and we are worried that he will lose his eyesight. Uveitis can be cured, but we cannot afford the costs. A friend suggested we seek support from Al Jalila Foundation, and we are hopeful that with timely medical care, Amro’s eyesight will be saved. All we want is to give him a chance to see the world around him and grow up with all the opportunities the world has to offer.
Al Jalila Foundation has partnered with Emirates NBD to raise the funds required to cover Amro's treatment so that he can grow up healthy and strong.
