Reem’s story
14-year-old Reem suffers from Thrombocytopenia, a disease that causes low blood platelet count which prevents clotting making her bleed even with the smallest injury, and requires urgent treatment to restore her health.
Reem is the eldest of five siblings and her parents, originally from Egypt, have lived in the UAE for 13 years. Her mother does not work, and her father is the sole breadwinner for the family. Her parents are finding it almost impossible to fund Reem’s treatment plan to help improve her condition and need our help.
Al Jalila Foundation has partnered with Emirates NBD to raise the funds necessary to help Reem receive the treatment she needs to live a healthy, happy life.
“We are unable to support Reem’s treatment and it breaks our heart to see our child suffer and have reached out to the community to help us. With medical care Reem’s condition will improve and she will be able to grow up to be strong and healthy.”
